A robodialer shouldn't be able to run up your bill.
Anything that answers your phone automatically has a failure mode: something dials it in a loop and you pay for every second. AlwaysGreet checks before answering, so a bad night costs you nothing.
How it works
What actually happens
01
Per-caller hourly limit
One number can only reach you so many times an hour. Past that the call is declined before it's answered, so it never becomes a billable minute.
02
Short-call spike detection
A number that racks up repeated sub-eight-second calls in an hour gets flagged automatically and blocked from then on. That pattern is a dialer probing your line, not a customer.
03
Checked before pickup, not after
This runs at the moment the call arrives, before the agent answers. A blocked call costs nothing because no conversation ever happened.
04
You can see who was flagged
Flagged numbers are listed on your protection page rather than being invisible, so you can confirm the filter isn't catching a real customer with a bad habit.
Being straight with you
What this doesn't do
Every limit below is one you'd otherwise discover after paying.
It filters by behaviour, not identity
There's no global spam database behind this. It catches numbers behaving like dialers against your line specifically — which handles the expensive case, but a single well-behaved sales call will get answered.
Blocking is per-business
A number flagged on your line isn't flagged for anyone else. That's deliberate — one business's nuisance caller is another's customer.

Questions
The things owners actually ask
What if it blocks a real customer?
The limits are generous by default — five calls an hour from one number, and the spike rule needs four ultra-short calls within the hour. You can raise either, and flagged numbers are visible so nothing is silently lost.
Do blocked calls use my minutes?
No. The decision happens before the call is answered, so a blocked call generates no talk time and no cost.
Will it sound like a robot?
No — it's a natural voice that interrupts and responds like a person, not a phone tree. But judge that yourself rather than taking our word: run the demo and listen to a real call before paying anything.
Do I have to change my phone number?
No. Your number stays exactly as it is on your listings, your signage, and your website. You forward calls to AlwaysGreet — either everything you don't pick up, or only outside opening hours. Turning it off puts everything back as it was.
Can it answer only after hours?
Yes, and most businesses start there. Turn on after-hours-only and the AI stays silent while you're open — you take those calls yourself. It picks up nights, weekends, and holidays.
What stops spam calls burning through my minutes?
A per-caller hourly limit, automatic flagging of repeat short-call bursts, and a daily spend cap that pauses the line if something goes wrong. These run before a call is answered, so a robodialer can't run up your bill.
See it refuse a spam burst
The demo runs a dialer attack against the real filter.
